Dear Meridian Early College High School Families, Learners, Staff, and Community Members,
It is with great pleasure that I join the Meridian Public Schools family as the Principal of Meridian Early College High School. With 18 years of work as a counselor and administrator, I have a strong passion for working together with families to foster continued academic growth of all students.
I am a graduate of both Michigan State University and Central Michigan University. In addition to a Master's degree in Counseling, I hold a K-12 School Administrative certificate. As a doctoral candidate at Eastern Michigan University, I also have advanced training in educational leadership, including coursework in school leadership and instructional development.
My biggest joy in life is spending time with my husband Adam and our four children, Ella (15), Blake (12), Erik (8), and Alyse (5). We spend most of our family time outside exploring the great state of Michigan and beyond! I am also an avid runner and enjoy outdoor activities.
In my role as principal, I am responsible for supporting actions which foster progress towards MECHS vision and ensure every child graduates ready for post secondary education or training and career. To gain a deeper understanding of Meridian Early College High School, I will work with families, students, staff, and community members to outline the goals and activities necessary to support our vision during the next 100 days and beyond. It is important to work together to ensure you have a voice in developing goals that are reflective of our learning community.
As we continue a tradition of educational excellence, it is important that I take time to listen and learn from all members of the community. Please consider attending the first Listening and Learning event on Tuesday, August 27 from 6-7:30PM to eat pizza and share the strengths and areas of growth within Meridian Early College High School. Please click HERE to view the flyer for this event. If you are unable to attend this event, please consider completing our online survey here: https://tinyurl.com/merps100. I am also available via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or 989.687-3300 to hear your input.
I look forward to listening, learning, planning, and leading collaboratively with all members of our school community to achieve our vision for the future.
Tara Mager, MA, LPC, LBSW
