The Meridian Bowling teams finished off their Jack Pine Season on Saturday hosting the Jack Pine Singles Tournament. All bowlers did a good job and should be proud of their efforts. On the girls side, two girls finished in the top 20. Emma VanDongen finished 5th with high scores of 176 & 171. Kristen Holsworth finished 13th with games of 160 and a personal best 200 game. Jillian Miller had games of 148 & 137. Morgan Miller had a 157, and Jamison Piper had a 149.
There were three boys in the top 20. Jarrod Wirth the tournament Champion with games of 248 & 225. Chris Schalk was 15th with games of 200 & 195. Kyle Nohel was 18th with games of 191 & 213. Alex Nohel had a 253 game. Jacob Mayer had games of 168 & 156. Mitch Zieman had games of 181 & 174. Cameron Crowder had a 131 game.
At the conclusion of the tournament the Jack Pine awards were handed out. There were five bowlers receiving awards. Emma VanDongen, Jarrod Wirth, and Chris Schalk received Jack Pine 2nd Team Honors. Kristen Holsworth and Kyle Nohel received Jack Pine Honorable Mention Honors. Congratulations to all the bowlers and their effort and hard work is paying off. Good luck to the bowlers as they move on to the regional tournament this weekend in Cheboygan.

Congratulations to the Boys Varsity Basketball Team on winning the Jack Pine Conference! The boys have played well this season. Here is a video from NBC25 that has an interview with Coach Bohn and Junior Gabe Brady after the game in Harrison. Meridian hosts districts next week, March 5-9. Come on out to support the Mustangs! Go Blue!
The Competitive Cheer Team captured its second Division 4 regional championship in three seasons at Caledonia High School! The ladies head to state finals this weekend in Grand Rapids at the DeltaPlex!
"We had a great week of practice last week," Mustangs' coach Val MacKenzie said. "We were really focused and ready when we went into the competition. (Our team) kept cool and calm and it paid off. They're just a hard-working team."
Congratulations are in order to Junior, Garret Mogg, who has qualified for States in wrestling this weekend at Ford Field. Good Luck Garret!
