Meridian Jr. High School offers a variety of athletic programs:

ROBOTICS

Meridian Jr. High runs a First Tech Challenge robotics team that is open to 7th and 8th graders. The season starts in September, and the regional competition occurs in November.

Fall of 2016 marked the inaugural season for the MJHS Robotics Team. Seventh and eighth grade First Tech Challenge teams are challenged to design, build, program, and operate robots to compete in a head-to-head challenge.

STUDENT COUNCIL

Student Council is open to 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Members are student leaders who have a variety of responsibilities and are involved with several activities.

STUDENT MENTORS

Several seventh and eighth graders at Meridian Jr. High School act as student mentors. Student mentors are heavily involved with Fifth Grade and New Student Orientation before the school year starts to help welcome all of our new students to MJHS. Student mentors also work with our fifth graders throughout the school year to help them feel comfortable in middle school.

COMMUNITY BASED ATHLETICS

Sanford Youth League

Sanford Youth League oversees Little League baseball for the area up to 14 years of age for girls and up to 16 years of age for boys. Click on the SYL link above for more information.
