Tonight at the Meridian Public Schools Board of Education meeting, we proudly presented the first-ever Hoofprint Award to the incredible Gina Lewandowski! 🐴💙
Gina was nominated by a colleague who wrote:
“I don’t know what we would do without Gina. She facilitates student council, runs three levels of art in one class period, advises our seniors, pilots district initiatives—and still finds time to lead with love and hold her students to high expectations. She’s truly amazing.”
💬 MECHS Instructional Coach Emily Sanders and Principal Scott LaFever spoke passionately about Gina’s leadership in her classroom, student council, community events, school dances, the homecoming parade, the art show, and her compassion for students navigating tough times.
🎖Board President Steve Grubaugh presented the award, which honors individuals who leave a lasting mark on our school and community through empowerment, resilience, and fearless leadership. Gina exemplifies every part of what this award stands for.

We’re looking for donations of gently used, age-appropriate books to add to our collection. Students in Mrs. Pashak's 6th and 7th grade science classes enjoyed a visit from Elizabeth Egan from the Society of Plastics Engineers and Plastivan. What brought you to our district? I wanted my son to go to Meridian Schools. I already worked as a paraprofessional at another district so I decided to come to Meridian Schools as well.

What is your favorite thing about Meridian Public Schools: Community members, students and staff appreciating my role with the district and treating like I've always been apart of the district. As if I've grown up here in the community!
What are your hobbies? I love to follow CMU football and to coach football. I also love fishing!
What brought you to our district? I wanted to be apart of a district that truly cares about the community and everyone is treated with love and respect.
