Summary of HRS

At Meridian Public Schools, we are deeply committed to fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. As part of this commitment, we have embarked on the journey to become a High Reliability School (HRS), guided by the research-based Marzano Resources High Reliability Schools framework.

The HRS framework is a proven model designed to systematically elevate school performance through five progressive levels of focus:

  1. Safe, Supportive, & Collaborative Culture – Cultivating a safe, supportive, and collaborative learning environment.

  2. Effective Teaching in Every Classroom – Ensuring high-quality, evidence-based instruction for all students.

  3. Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum – Delivering a consistent, rigorous curriculum across all grade levels and content areas.

  4. Standards-Referenced Reporting – Clearly communicating student progress and achievement aligned to standards.

  5. Competency-Based Education – Empowering students to advance upon demonstrated mastery of key skills and knowledge.
