November 15, 2020

Dear MECHS Learners and Families,

COVID-19 URGENT UPDATE

Based on recent Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) orders we must employ our remote learning plan for ALL Meridian Early College High School face-to-face students.  You can view this most recent order HEREhttps://drive.google.com/file/...

  • Beginning Wednesday, November 18, 2020, face-to-face learning is paused through Wednesday, December 9th. MECHS will RETURN to face-to-face learning on Thursday, December 10th.

  • Effective Wednesday, November 18th, 2020, all learners are expected to follow our at-home learning plan below.

  • This order applies to Meridian Early College High School students ONLY

It is CRITICAL both students and families understand that in order to earn credit for courses, attendance in virtual classes AND completion of work is REQUIRED. Failure to complete these expectations may result in loss of credit and jeopardize graduation.

LEARNING AT HOME EXPECTATIONS:

Unlike the spring, remote learning WILL look different. PLEASE review these guidelines to ensure a rigorous and robust academic instruction.

With this temporary building closure, learners are REQUIRED to complete the following:

  1. Learning will transition into a virtual format immediately following the closure using this schedule HERE.

  2. Attendance and work completion is mandatory in alignment with the face-to-face course expectations.

  3. Participation in virtual LIVE Zoom sessions are REQUIRED by this class schedule HERE.

    1. School calendar breaks/vacation calendar will be followed

  4. Grading timelines apply.

  5. Learners will reach out to teacher’s via email or through LIVE sessions to ask for support.

    1. Instructors will respond in a timely and concise manner during regular school business hours of 8:05AM-3:00PM.

Please make sure to review our Continuity of Learning Plan HERE or visit: https://www.merps.org/o/early-college-high-school/page/resources-learning-at-home

Assessments:

Assessments will be conducted remotely. It is critical you are attending your LIVE virtual Zoom courses to ensure you are completing these assignments as assigned.
