#MeetTheTeam - Meet the Administration team at Meridian! Up now is Meridian Junior High School Principal, Kent Boxey! #ReachHigher How long have you been at Meridian? 16 years! What is your "why"? My goal of being an educator is to be a small piece in the lives of our students in their journey toward adulthood. In my time at Meridian, we have improved our programs to better prepare our students with knowledge as well as 21st Century Skills. Growing up and becoming an adult that can problem solve, collaborate, and communicate is a marathon not a sprint, and I am happy that I can come to work each day to be a part of that process. What is your favorite thing about Meridian Public Schools? I came to work for Meridian 16 years ago so my wife and I could live, work, and raise our kids all in the same community. I love this community and the 'small town' feel that Meridian offers. Our kids represent the fifth generation to grow up in Sanford on both sides of our family, and I am proud to still call this my home. What is a fun fact about you? I play bass guitar in a classic rock band and in the praise band at my church.

What is your "why"? I strive to build relationships with every student that walks through our doors. My hope is that each and every one of them WANTS to come to school. My goal is to instill a love of learning and motivation to do their best. I want to make students feel special and that they are part of a school family. School should be fun and engaging and a time that our kids look back on and have good memories. What is your favorite thing about Meridian Public Schools? My favorite thing about Meridian is the students, staff, and community. I grew up in a small town and I love the close knit feel of this community. The connections I've made with students and staff is life changing. I LOVE working at Meridian Public Schools. What is a fun fact about you? I golfed in the Great Lakes Bay Invitational Pro-Am with the LPGA in 2019.
