Dear Meridian Families, Students, and Staff,
This is a quick update to make everyone aware that the CDC updated their mask guidance and requirements last Friday, February 25th. After confirming with the Midland County Department of Public Health, Meridian Public Schools will be recommending masking on school buses, but not requiring them, effective immediately. We will still have masks available for students who request them for the remainder of the school year.

This is a reminder about the school calendar changes that were made back in January for students in order to provide the staff with some very important training during the second half of the school year. Students will not report on February 25th and March 18th. April 14th and May 26th will now be half days for students. Staff will utilize this time to engage in additional training time to ensure that all team members receive critical updates on how to respond during a threatening situation from our school resource officer; as well as, a refresher on our Smart Boot Door Security System.

The forecast is calling for worsening conditions throughout the day making travel difficult. Out of an abundance of caution Meridian will be closed today, Wednesday, February 2nd.
The Midland County Department of Public Health will be hosting a COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Meridian Early College High School on Wednesday, February 2nd, from 3-5:30pm in the Auditorium. To schedule your appointment, call 989-687-3360 x3382. See the attached flyer for any questions.
Due to a burst pipe at Meridian Elementary School, all Meridian Public Schools will be CLOSED tomorrow, Tuesday 1/18. Daycare will still be open. Thank you.
MERPS has lost power due to a Consumers Energy issue. Generators are operationally at all buildings providing support for all essential systems (emergency lighting, phone, heat, & water). MJHS is serving hot lunch.
Classes will continue to operate as scheduled. As with any situation, families are welcome to come to pick up your child(ren). At this time, school departure and bus transportation will occur at normal times.
MERPS will continue to assess the situation. Updates will be communicated to families via school messenger text systems, Facebook, and MERPS website.
Power has been restored to MECHS. As a result, the Girls VARSITY game against Farwell will occur as scheduled at 6PM. Let's go Mustangs!!!
