Meridian's National Honor Society is launching their first service project of the year which is a fundraiser for the Toni & Trish House located in Auburn. The Toni & Trish House’s mission is to provide compassionate, dignified, end-of-life care for the terminally ill in a peaceful, home-like environment. Although the cost to care for each guest is about $400 per day, expenses are fully covered by individual donations, community grants and fundraising events like ours. To raise funds, we will be selling baked goods all this week during lunch hours as well as at evening events including the band concert on 10/28, volleyball game on 10/29 and Truck or Treat on 10/30. MECHS Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) spent the week raising awareness for National Teen Driver Safety Week 2025! Tonight at the Meridian Public Schools Board of Education meeting, we proudly presented the first-ever Hoofprint Award to the incredible Gina Lewandowski! 🐴💙
Gina was nominated by a colleague who wrote:
“I don’t know what we would do without Gina. She facilitates student council, runs three levels of art in one class period, advises our seniors, pilots district initiatives—and still finds time to lead with love and hold her students to high expectations. She’s truly amazing.”
💬 MECHS Instructional Coach Emily Sanders and Principal Scott LaFever spoke passionately about Gina’s leadership in her classroom, student council, community events, school dances, the homecoming parade, the art show, and her compassion for students navigating tough times.
