Samantha Lichtenwald is returning to the MECHS team this year teaching BioLit, Biology, and Environmental Science. Ms. L. enjoys hunting and fishing.

Noah Kent is retuning to his role as the Director of Technology and Auditorium Services for the 2022-2023 school year. One fun fact about Mr. Kent is that he enjoys baking. His favorite thing to learn how to bake so far is bread!


Our BioMedical Science CTE course used microscopes to compare different tissue types. At MECHS, students collaborate on projects that require critical thinking, creativity and collaboration in order to answer challenging questions and develop transferrable skills. #ReachHigher





Welcome back to the team, Jennifer Fenby. Mrs. Fenby will be returning to MECHS this year in a new role as an ELA Interventionist. On fun fact about Mrs. Fenby is that she has coached youth sports for the bulk of her life.


Amy Huff is returning to the team this year teaching GeoDesign and Chemistry. One fun fact about Ms. Huff is that she is from the U.P.


Each year the Detroit Jazz Festival Committee selects 6 high school jazz bands to perform at the world's largest free jazz festival held over Labor Day weekend in downtown Detroit. The Meridian Early College High School Jazz Ensemble has been one of the few selected to perform with this September marking the tenth time since 2012. This performance for several thousand Detroit Jazz Festival attendees was the culmination of months of hard work on the part of our student musicians. To perform alongside jazz professionals from across the globe was an experience not to be forgotten. Congratulations, Jazz Band! #ReachHigher

Lonny Cruff joined the MECHS staff this year as a mathematics teacher. One fun fact about Mr. Curff is that he taught in rural Alaska for 7 years.


Jenna Dornoff is returning this year as the Assistant Director of Bands. A fun fact about Ms. Dornoff is that she likes to garden.


The Class of 2024 is holding a can & bottle drive Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. You can drop your donations off to the main entrance of the high school from 5-7pm September 13th-15th. Did you know J. Cole walked a quarter mile barefoot in the Panamanian jungle? J. Cole will be returning to MECHS as a STEM educator.


Ryan Cicinelli is continuing his role as a science teacher at MECHS. A fun fact about Mr. Cicinelli is that he is Italian.


Congratulations to the Meridian Bass fishing team on finishing 6th in the state for the 2022 season and earning an invitation to the 2023 Bassmaster National Tournament. Good luck to Luke Barriger and Luke Bailey as they compete next year. #ReachHigher

Trust, respect, and responsibility are the hallmarks of our culture at Meridian Early College High School. Students and teachers alike share ownership of the learning experience and school environment. Efforts were made in the first week to build a positive school culture.



Mrs. Amy Boxey will be back this year as Dean of Student Services and Off-Campus Opportunities. One fun fact about Mrs. Boxey is that this is her 30th year in education.


Our first teacher is Mr. Ansorge. It is his first year with us as the BioLit, ELA and Drama teacher. One fun fact about Mr. Ansorge is the he got his masters from California State University.
