Introducing our new Eat To Compete - Sports Nutrition program with Meridian Public Schools! The goal of this program is to provide nutritious and delicious foods that can help those who are in sports, or are looking for an additional alternative food choice, find the additional nutrients that they need. Callie Gavorek, registered dietitian with Chartwells, stopped by to talk with our coaches and athletes about this new and exciting program. Callie discussed what our bodies need when we are exercising or playing sports, and how the Eat To Compete program will help find those key nutrients. Meridian's Director of Dining Services, Melissa Gohl says "This program will help our students with finding the nutritious and delicious food options while feeding their bodies and minds in preparation for a competition or practice. Refueling our bodies with these meal options is key to success." Some of the meal options that students and staff were able to sample included: Southwest Sweet Potato Breakfast Burrito, Sunbutter & Banana Rollup, Apple & Peanut Butter Rollup, and Hummus with veggies and bread. Make sure to look for the Eat To Compete logos on our new meal options at the Junior High and High School! #ReachHigher #ServingUpHappyAndHealthy

MECHS 11th graders had the opportunity to explore life situations based on their personal career plan. In partnership with Midland County ESA, they planned budgets and problem-solved real life financial situations. Our graduates are more prepared to take that critical step forward on their journey to an independent life and rewarding career.
